Libraries between the Alpine peaks – what is it like to work in an Austrian academic library and how does it differ from the Polish reality?

Kinga Kulczyńska – graduate of Library and Information Science at the Jagiellonian University. She came to Innsbruck thanks to a 3-month Erasmus internship. For 14 years she has been working in the cataloging department (formerly Romance studies, now Slavic studies) at the Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Tirol. Graduate of the Data librarian and Metadatamanagment course at the Hochschule der Medien in Stuttgart. Privately, a mother of 2 children, owner of a Swiss Shepherd and two cats.

Based on Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), in connection with the lecture entitled "Libraries between the Alpine peaks – what is it like to work in an Austrian academic library and how does it differ from the Polish reality?":
The Personal Data Administrator (PDA) of the lecture participants is: the Medical University of Lublin, 20-059 Lublin, Al. Racławickie 1;
The Controller has appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO), who can be contacted by e-mail: IOD@umlub.pl, or in writing to the Controller’s address;
· Participants' data will be processed for the purpose of participating in the Lecture to the extent necessary to participate in it. The basis for data processing is Article 6 paragraph 1 letter b), letter c) and letter f) of the GDPR;
· The image of the Participants will be available in real time and will not be recorded or distributed;
Personal data may be disclosed only to persons authorised by the Personal Data Controller to process personal data, to entities processing under an entrustment agreement, in particular: providers of legal and advisory services, IT services, etc. – while ensuring adequate security measures by the recipients of personal data, authorised independent Data Controllers and other entities authorised under the law;
· The Data Controller does not transfer data outside the European Economic Area;
· Participants’ personal data will not be subject to automatic decision-making or profiling;
· The data will be stored for the duration of the Lecture and until claims are submitted.
Rights related to personal data:
· the right to access your data and receive a copy of it
· the right to rectify (correct) your data
· the right to restrict processing
· the right to transfer data
· the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
