Rules for accepting doctoral theses
According to Rector's Order No. 62/2019 of June 12, 2019 on the collection, processing and provision by the Main Library of digital and printed versions of doctoral dissertations defended at the Medical University of Lublin , to the UML Main Library, ul. Szkolna 18, you must deliver:
- 1 copy of the thesis in printed, bound form;
- 1 copy of the electronic version that complies with it in PDF format – files up to 20MB in size should be sent to the address: Cyfrowa@umlub.pl before or during the signing of the license agreement; files over 20MB should be delivered on an external medium (such as a pendrive). In the body of the message, please provide your name, surname, title of the work in Polish, title of the work in English and up to 5 keywords.
- Additionally, please attach: a .pdf file containing the abstract in Polish and a file containing the abstract in English.
Works are accepted Department of Digital Access to Collections with the Xerox Department room 213, if you have any questions, please contact us in advance by phone at 81 448 58 13 or by email: digital@umlub.pl.
By submitting a copy of the doctoral dissertation to the Library in electronic form, the author is obliged to choose a license, on which the work will be shared. You can choose from six non-exclusive license agreements based on open Creative Commons (CC) licenses:
- Creative Commons – Attribution (CC BY)
- Creative Commons – Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA)
- Creative Commons – Attribution-NoDerivs (CC BY-ND)
- Creative Commons – Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC)
- Creative Commons – Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA)
- Creative Commons – Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs (CC BY-NC-ND).
In case of disagreement to make the work available in the PPM UML Repository in open access, it is possible to sign a restrictive license agreement access to the full text at one station in the Library, along with Attachment , enabling the Library to place a summary in PPM UML.
After signing the appropriate license agreement, the Library issues a certificate of acceptance of the doctoral thesis by the Library, which should be delivered to Department of Academic Degrees and Titles .
Licenses
Before making a decision on which license to choose, please read the information about what they are. Creative Commons licenses :
CC BY License – Creative Commons – Attribution – allows copying, changing, distributing, presenting and performing the work only if the author is credited. This is a license that guarantees the broadest freedoms to the licensee.
CC BY SA License – Creative Commons – Attribution - Under the same conditions – allows you to copy, modify, distribute, display, and perform the work as long as the same license is granted to derivative works.
CC BY ND License – Creative Commons – Attribution – No Derivatives – permits the distribution, presentation and performance of the work for both commercial and non-commercial purposes, provided that it is preserved in its original form (no derivative works are created).
CC BY NC License – Creative Commons – Attribution – Non-Commercial – allows you to copy, change, remix, distribute, present and perform the work for non-commercial purposes only. However, this condition does not cover derivative works (they may be covered by a different license).
CC BY NC SA License – Creative Commons – Attribution-Noncommercial-ShareAlike – allows you to distribute, present and perform the work only for non-commercial purposes and as long as dependent works are also covered by the same license.
CC BY NC ND License – Creative Commons – Attribution – Non-Commercial – No Derivatives – allows the distribution, presentation and performance of the work only for non-commercial purposes and on condition that it is preserved in its original form (no derivative works are created). This is the most restrictive of the open licenses.
