The Main Library of the Lublin City Hall recommends a new multi-search engine Ovid Discovery Service (OvidDS) – a modern tool designed for researchers, doctoral candidates, and students alike. OvidDS integrates electronic resources available to the Medical University of Lublin into a single, coherent interface, while also offering features supported by artificial intelligence. The most important function of the platform is Discover module, which allows you to search multiple sources simultaneously, both in a classic ("Google") way and in a more modern way – resembling the use of semantic search, i.e. using natural language.
Additional support is provided by AI-generated summaries and overviews, which facilitate initial research into the literature on the subject.
OvidDS is not only a search engine, but also a way to advanced information managementUsers can bookmark articles, create lists of favorite books and magazines, and save searches. A particularly useful feature is the ability to launch automatic email alerts (daily, weekly, or monthly) that inform about new publications that meet the criteria of a saved query. The system also allows you to subscribe to alerts about new issues of selected journals.
To use the full capabilities of Discovery Search (including AI features), you must be connected to university network, use VPN/proxy or logging in with an email address in the university domain.
