The Medical University of Lublin with its registered office at Al. Racławickich 1, 20-059 Lublin, NIP 712-010-69-11, REGON 000288710 (hereinafter referred to as the Medical University of Lublin) as the controller of personal data informs that the data collected in the library and information system will be processed solely for the purpose of using library resources, in particular in connection with record-keeping activities and those related to the process of setting up and maintaining a library account. The area of data processing in the set of users of library resources is the Main Library of the Medical University of Lublin, ul. Szkolna 18, 20-124 Lublin, hereinafter referred to as the Library, as well as specialist libraries.

The basis for the processing of data collected in the library and information system are the provisions of law, i.e. the Act of 20 July 2018 – the Law on Higher Education (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668, as amended), the Act of 27 June 1997 on libraries (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2018, item 574, 1669) in conjunction with the Statute of the City Hall and the Library regulations.

The user of library resources voluntarily decides to use library resources, however, if he or she wishes to use them, he or she is obliged to provide the data contained in the declaration; without providing this data, it is not possible to use the resources. 

In accordance with art. 15-21 and art. 77 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), the User of library resources whose data is being processed has the right to access the data, rectify it, and - in situations provided for by law - to delete or limit processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, as well as the right to transfer data. The collected personal data will not be sold or made available to third parties, except for those authorized under the law, nor will they be transferred to third countries or international organizations, contrary to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Data will be processed by the University of Medical Sciences during the period of use of library resources, and after that time for archival purposes, in accordance with the University of Medical Sciences procedures, as well as for the purposes and for the period and to the extent required by law to secure potential claims. The University also informs that no decisions will be made based on personal data in an automated manner, they will not be sold or made available to external entities, except for entities and circumstances of their disclosure provided for by law.

Due to the fact that the Medical University of Lublin with its registered office at Al. Racławickich 1, 20-059 Lublin processes personal data collected during the use of the Main Library by users, in order to carry out the Library's activities, as well as for archival and statistical purposes, we inform that in the absence of a declaration of resignation from using the Main Library and not using its services (no borrowed items on the account), the following personal data will be archived for a maximum period of 5 years from the last activity on the reader's account: surname and first names and PESEL number or date of birth. After this time, the account will be permanently deleted.
